Flirt Cosmetics is hosting a Biggest Flirt contest and I have made it to the Top 10.
This.Is.Huge.
The winner (which is determined by fan votes) wins a trip to NEW YORK CITY! I left my <3 in NYC when I went for IMATS and I'd love to get it back. :)
PLEASE VOTE FOR ME! Vote HERE!
You will have to "Like" Flirt Cosmetics and I believe have your pop-up blocker off. The page has been acting up and a lot of people were having trouble with it. If you were one of those people, please try again! It should be up and running now.
Thank you so much! I'm super emotional right now (you know, my aunt flo) and every time I see someone vote for me, I swear, I tear up ala Susan Lucci.
If you're still not motivated to vote for me. Look at this picture of Edward and imagine him standing in front of you. Staring into your eyes. "Vote for Lorena Guadarrama-Molano," he whispers. And then carries you in his arms and runs 1000 mph through the forest and sits you in front of his computer. He types www.facebook.com/flirtcosmetics and puts his hand over yours to click Vote. Wow. Imagine.
I am definitely not Stephanie Meyer. But you get the idea. If you vote for me, Edward will come in to your bedroom at night and sing you a lullaby. Or Jacob. Or whichever vampire, werewolf, superhero, whoever you have a crush on. I will call them and tell them to do it.
Please vote. Voting ends September 23!

Cute Nails. I call them Banana Republic.
Here's a quick tutorialish blog on a cute nail design that I did this week. I was so in love with it...but I'm a "More is More" person, so I ended up ruining them the next day. Every time I do my nails I come up with a cute design and then take it one step too far. :)
I did this one the other day and my husband said "STOP." He's used to hearing my "look, how cute, right?...just needs one more little...dang it." That's pretty much how it goes EVERY TIME. Do I learn my lesson? Clearly, no.
So, here's the design (before I added black dots & ruined it)
Very. Very. Easy. I am a newbie to nail art. Nail polish, even. It's really something I've never worn. Ok, hardly ever. Disclaimer: My nails are in various sizes because I don't want to cut them. I don't care that they're uneven. I'm learning to keep my nails long. They always break and I'll be doing a video soon on this so anyways back to the tuti.
Here's what I used:
Urban Decay Nail Polish in White Widow
L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Polish in White
The UD White Widow is such a gorgeous color. It's like a cloudy white-beige with a pearlescent finish that's very subtle. Two coats makes it almost khaki. I absolutely LOVE it. I'm not sure how long it wears since I wore it for one day before having to remove it. So upset at myself you guys!
The Art Deco nail polish is just stark white. Basic. The Art Deco nail polishes are specifically created for nail art. They have a long skinny brush as opposed to the traditional short broader ones.
So here's what I did.
I used two coats of the White Widow and allowed that to dry. I then used the Art Deco White and created diagonal stripes of alternating lengths across the top half of the nail. Let that dry. Applied clear top coat. Ta-dah!
Super simple, I know. But I really liked the way it looked. Very chic. And the color combo reminded me of Banana Republic. I think it's nail art for the office and for those that aren't used to wearing crazy colors or designs. Intro to Nail Art. A new hobby of mine.
I hope you guys like it. I'm gonna come up with something a little more exciting and do a video on it soon.
I know I'm the girl-that-cried-filming-a-video but I promise they're coming!!!
Thank you for everything! To my few readers, you guys are in for a treat.very.very.soon!

My name is Lorena...and I am a Makeup-holic.
All my money goes to makeup. All of it. Well, obviously not like food and shelter and random bill money. But my excess money (however little that may be) is makeup money.
I tried Project 10 Pan and failed miserably. I got to 1 pan. Project 10 Pan is where you don't buy new makeup until you hit pan on 10 items. Yeah, right. I would say it's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life but I didn't even finish it...so I don't think that counts, right?
At the moment, I have a shopping cart locked and loaded. I actually do need one of the items in the cart for my makeup kit. However, that one $8 item that I visited the site for has led me to another 12 items and a grand total of $61. And this is my thought process:
That's not really a lot of money. Comparatively speaking, I mean. 13 items for $61 +shipping is not much considering one foundation can cost $50. I'm getting a good deal. If I don't buy all of them now, I'll end up buying them later anyway and have an extra shipping cost. Might as well get them all now...etc. etc.
This would be okay. If I hadn't already spent $100 this week on makeup. (Standard) (Which is ridiculous because I'm pretty much spending on makeup as much as my rent is in one month)
I haven't even used some of the items I just got and I'm already trying to buy more! What's wrong with me?!
I want someone to blame and I don't want it to be me. Here's what I've come up with:
#1 Makeup Companies : They package everything in gold and glitter and shiny! Moth to a flame...
#2 Other Girls: For having all the makeup I want. Jelly.
#3 My Husband: Please lock me up and erase all our credit/debit card numbers from my head with one of those Men-In-Black eraser thingies.
Writing this has really opened my eyes. Not as well as my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, but they are opened. I think....
Well, I was going to write that I promise I won't buy any new makeup for like a month or some ridiculous, unattainable goal of a time. I'm sorry. I just can't do that.
I will however promise to spend LESS on makeup and transfer some of that money over to SHOES. My second love. Second love in my list of inanimate objects that I am deeply in love with.
I will be closing that tab I STILL have open with my cart full of items. Maybe next month...
(Next month is next week BOOYAH)

P.S. I'll be inserting a pic of what I bought this week just so you can see how badly I don't need more makeup.

Makeup by LMG: Birchbox August
Hello! Having a super fantastic day! Got some great news and I will tell you guys about it later. Promise!
First of all, you might have been directed here from my video. If not, please view it so you have a better idea of what I'm talking about : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE3y9Ys1jP4
Now. BIRCHBOX. I love it. They let you try samples of great beauty products and then offer you the option of purchasing the full size with free shipping while earning points. I think point systems are great. It's like earning gold stars like when you were in elementary school and everyone loves a gold star at the end of their name. Rachel Berry <3
This month, I received Befine Night Cream. I like it but haven't used it enough to see results worth telling you about. I do immediately feel my skin tighter and softer but not sure if that has long term effects. I'll let you know when I finish the product. It also included a Befine Exfoliating Cleanser which I haven't tried but will let you know when I do.
BLINC MASCARA. Ridiculously gorgeous amazing, can you say Longest Lashes EVER. It's a tube mascara so it adds tubies to your lashes and I find that you can keep applying making your lashes longer and darker without experience crazy clumping like you would find from most mascaras. Your lashes stay defined with that crazy length and it will not SMUDGE! This is a new HG mascara for me. I'm purchasing one for me and one for my kit because I always worry that my bride's mascara will run even though I use waterproof ones. I know this one won't and that reason alone makes me super excited.
Kate Spade Twirl Perfume. I don't like it. I'm picky with perfumes. Too much floral or a perfume that's too strong makes me extremely nauseous so I have to be careful.
Lift Lab High Potency Solution. I'm eager to keep trying this stuff. From what I read, it should be an amazing product. Full size costs $85 so IT BETTER BE! I'll update you on what my thoughts are.
and some glorified elastic. um, anyways. NEXT!
I love this program and honestly, I feel like $10 is super affordable and so worth it. I love trying things out without making a commitment to the $40+ price tag that you see on high end cosmetics. I know you can swatch at places like Sephora, Ulta, MAC and other counters...but it's not the same. I don't know about you but I just don't put that stuff on my face. It's gross. I'll swatch on a piece of paper or my hand but NEVER on my face. This lets you take these products "for a spin" . Lol so dumb. :)

Hello, Blue Had Me at Hello.
I love buying makeup. I could seriously shop for makeup every day of my life. Sometimes if I don't have a lot of money in my budget for makeup, I'll just buy something cheap...which I know! will not be worth it, but like one of my Twitter followers says, it scratches the itch.
It's seriously a very... fun addiction :) ha. My husband doesn't understand it and I have to go through a big ol' song and dance to convince him to let me make any makeup purchase. His go-to response to, can I buy some makeup? is NO. Sometimes I get my way, most of the time I don't. I appreciate it though because this way I have money for groceries.
And with that lovely intro, I bought some makeup. I didn't want to spend a lot of money but I wanted something! So I walked into Walgreen's, picked up the Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection Palette in Blue Had Me at Hello and walked out of there content. I swatched it in the car because I am impatient and I was pretty happy. I started with the turquoise/teal color. Gasp! So pretty. I want to smear it all over my face and start a cooler version of the Blue Man Group. If you have it you know what I mean. ;)
Not really. But the silver eyelid color, the dark blue sparkly crease color and the matte black are also pretty. Watch my YouTube video. I do a better?? job of talking about it. If not, at least you can see what it looks like on. The video is HERERERERERE.
I'm new to this. I'm not sure what you guys want to read so I'm just writing off the top of the dome. This small, gorgeous, brainy dome of mine. I hope you enjoy it. If so, let me know. If you don't have nothing nice to say...jk please let me know. Constructive criticism helps and trolling helps also, in it's own special way.
You guys are the best! Thanks for it all...
